The high-μ, low-noise dual-triode compact nine-pin tube is used in audio amplification circuits for voltage amplification as well as for inverting drive in push-pull amplifiers. The 12AX7B, 7025 and 12AX7, ECC83 have identical functions and electrical parameters; the latter are improved versions with lower noise levels, making them suitable for use as the first stage of amplifiers with high gain.
